Irwin’s Bike and Sports Annual Holiday Party

Come join us this Wednesday for Irwin’s annual holiday party. The holiday merrymaking starts at 11:30 and will continue until 1ish. The festivities will entail culinary masterpieces such as Bill’s famous fried turkey, and, yes, master chef Darrick will be present with some enticing shrimp for everyone to enjoy. Drinks and other appetizers will also be provided so feel free to stop by the shop and help bring in the holidays with your friends at Irwin’s Bike and Sports.

Hockey at Irwin’s

Hockey at Irwin’s is going strong again this year. We have heard rumors that we are getting out of the hockey business-THEY ARE NOT TRUE! We plan to carry hockey equipment for as long as there is a market to support it.

In fact we just received a big shipment of equipment from Easton this week. Stop in to try the new SE16 stick with the balancing weights in the blade. We even got some clearance stuff from last season that will be on sale.

Don’t forget about our sharpening. We do it while you wait! Between our 3 fulltime people who sharpen we have over 50 years of sharpening experience.

When you need help with anything hockey-Don’t forget to give Irwin’s a try!

Welcome Back Jack Ride!

This Wednesday we will be watching the weather closely in hopes of getting in one more outdoor ride for the season at 5:30. If the weather is questionable or rainy, we will do our indoor ride as scheduled. If you have any questions feel free to call the shop at 515.270.8304. Hope to see you all this Wednesday!

Bill’s CX Adventure

Bill, who is still too tired to write, tried his hand this past weekend at Spooky Cross. He rode in the beginner race along with a few of Irwin’s friends. He was not expecting the amount of mud or wind that he encountered during the race, however, he did endure. Check his blog later for some words from the man.

Last Outdoor Ride of the Season Rescheduled!

The last ride of the season has been rescheduled for this coming Wednesday. We are hoping that the weather will allow us to do one more ride outside before we move to our indoor training rides. We will be meeting at Irwin’s at 5:30 and also at the Sycamore access to the Neil Smith Trail (so people can stay on the bicycle trails for our ride home). We will be going down in one large group and coming back together. Lights are strongly recommended for this ride.

If you can not make it, feel free to join us next Wednesday for our indoor rides on the trainers. If you have one, bring it; if not, we will have trainers available for only $10 a session.
