Next Women’s Event

In about two weeks we’ll be hosting another Women’s Only Maintenance Clinic on November 14th. Same deal as last time, Wednesday night at 6pm, registration is helpful but not required, everyone is invited to join us for a meal and socializing afterwards. This time we’ll be going over cleaning and lubing, which shouldn’t take too long, so there will likely be a good bit of time for a question and answer session that can be about basically anything. To sign up give us a call (270-8304) or an email (info@irwinsbikes.com) and let us know you’ll be here. It’s not required but it will help us plan for space and materials. Hope to see you there.

One more try

Sooooo, tonight’s weather is looking reasonably good for this time of year. Our final outside ride is going to happen tonight.

Details:

5:30 or so like normal leave from in front of Irwin’s

Ride downtown via Johnston trail, over the new connection, down the Neil Smith

Eat at El Bait Shop

Return the same route

Bundle up, grab your lights and come down. It’s gonna be a good time.

Real Finale Next Week

So, last night’s big finale ride didn’t happen. Rain. Predictions of more rain. Lots of doom in the forecast. None of these were good signs, so we didn’t ride. Seven people made it down to El Bait Shop and had a nice meal and a few beers anyway. But riding is really what we were trying to do, so next week we’ll try again. Same deal: meet at Irwin’s at 5:30, ride downtown, eat (probably at El Bait Shop), ride home in the dark. Should be a great time.

Final outside ride of the season

That’s right. This Wednesday we’ll be doing our final outdoor group ride before we retreat from the darkness and ride on trainers for the rest of the winter. So for the ride this Wednesday we’ll be riding downtown, eating at El Bait Shop, and riding home in the dark. It should be a good (if chilly) time. Weather is supposed to be in the mid-50s so it shouldn’t be too bad. Lights will be necessary for such a ride, but they needn’t be powerful as plenty of folks will have very bright lights and when riding with a group you can get by with a much smaller amount of light. If you’ve been riding with us, and may have missed a few, come back and join us for out last (and most fun) outdoor ride of the season. The following week bring those trainers and ride with us in our basement.
