Come see several of us at the Green Days Parade this Saturday on Pioneer Parkway in Johnston. Mark will be on a unicycle, someone else may join him in one wheeled fun, but other staff, race team members, and friends of the shop will be tossing candy and riding around on assorted bikes, and having tons of fun.

I haven’t written anything in quite a while. That’s because nothing’s really going on. I’ve been commuting, riding some otherwise, and working a bunch. We’ve been pertty busy, and as such work has been mentally tiring, or at least moreso than normal. Haven’t gotten a chance to get the single speed out on the trail, mostly due to the weather and my schedule, but I plan to get out there this weekend.
Greendays parade is this Saturday, I should be riding a unicycle and sweating a ton. Should be a good time.

Last night we finally had some sort of good weather for our Wednesday ride. It was dry, sunny, and not super hot. it was of course incredibly windy. The people that came out and braved the wind had a good fun ride. Next week hopefully the wind stay to normal levels and we have a nice big turn out like we’re used to.
Don’t forget that Father’s Day is a little more than a week away, so be sure to stop in and check out some gifts for dad.

Seriously. I tried really hard. Today I attempted my commute. There was just a light drizzle when I left my apartment, but within a mile or so, it turned into a downpour that didn’t pass like I figured it would. I was having trouble looking farther than about 15 feet in front of me, and I’m sure cars had problems seeing me too, so I turned around. Got back home, dried off, changed, hung up my wet gear, and drove to work. The weather was still no fun, hard rains, with patches of drizzle, mixed with patches of torrential rain. I’m proud of myself for getting out there and giving it a shot. The result was pretty much worthelss. Two miles of getting wet, and a hurried few minutes trying to not soak my apartment and still have my stuff dry.

Well, school’s almost out, the weather is warmer(and wetter), and when it’s not raining, it’s been great bike riding weather. Our last two Wednesday rides didn’t happen due to the poorly timed precipitation. While we’re supposed to get rain this weekend, by mid-week we should be dry and the ride should happen as intended.
Speaking of riding and kids being done with school, now is a great time to come in and check out some kid sized bikes. Kids should come in and look for dad too, as Father’s Day is rapidly approaching.
