Commuting fun
Yesterday (5/24) and today are both good reasons to force yourself to get on the bike in the morning and that reason is: the ride home. Seriously. Yesterday it was drizzling rain onto already soaked streets, the wind was blowing (when is it not?), and the sky looked like it was going to pour. I figured I could make it without getting too wet and/or cold. I did, it wasn’t the most fun ever but wasn’t too bad. I did pick up a tiny, very pointy rock somewhere near the elementary school on 62nd in Johnston. Having used my last tube two days before, I called to let Kyle know I’d be walking the last 3/4 of a mile or so, and he jumped in his car to come get me. That was pretty handy. The ride home was nearly perfect, clear, sunny, 60F, no wind. One of the better rides I’ve had this year. Similar story this morning. Chilly, kinda windy, slept poorly so I really didn’t feel like riding. Now it looks like it’s gonna be a great ride home, low wind, nice temps, clear skies and some nice sunshine.
