To avoid making this horribly long and hard to decifer, I’ve chosen to talk about my time in California in terms of each event/activity separately. First I’ll be talking about the SBCU classes themselves.

Specialized Bicycle Component University

Specialized literally teaches class about their bikes and accessories. They focus on the new technology and the methods that go into making sure their bikes are top notch. In addition to three days with about 8 hours of class time, there’s a road ride one day and a mountain ride another. The rides are meant to highlight what was just covered in class, and give you an experiential tie in to the differences in bikes you just learned about. It was a blast. The instructors are tons of fun and absolutely full of incredibly information. They’re not just experts on Specialized’s products, they’re experts on all their competitors products too. Jon, Josh, Gabe, and anyone else I can’t remember right now, did a fantastic job of educating all of us. All eleven of us had a blast.
